Werner and Melanie write:About our water cat

Phoebe's love of water is truly a wonder, and she constantly amuses us. From the human perspective, there are a few (minor) complications arising from her fascination:

1. Toilet seat covers must always be kept closed. No exceptions. Ever.

2. No Phoebe in the bathroom when a bath has been poured. (Unless, of course, the bath is for her enjoyment.)

3. No glasses of water to be left unattended anywhere in the house. Phoebe has been known to try to drink out of water glasses, and usually ends up tipping them over in her efforts to smoosh her face deep enough into the cup to reach the water level.

Of course, Melanie filled a glass with water yesterday evening and (courtesy of preggie brain, maybe?) forgot to empty it and move it to the kitchen. It spent the night on the bookcase. As we were eating breakfast this morning, we heard a clatter and Werner rushed over to discover Phoebe admiring a new puddle of water.

Two things to be thankful for this morning:

1. The puddle was water.

2. The water was in a 25¢ plastic cup from Ikea, therefore unbreakable.
